Welcome Silverstone Family

This year we welcomed the Silverstone family, with Avishua in the Pre-K classroom, and Donny in the fourth grade classroom. Mr. Silverstone works as a family and child therapist at Baylor College of Medicine, where his native Spanish comes in handy, and Mrs. Silverstone is a math professor at Wharton Jr. College at the Sugarland and Richmond campuses. They live in the neighborhood near Young Israel, and belong to both Young Israel and Beth Rambam.

“Avishua wants to be at school early and leave late
so he does not miss anything,”

They came to Houston from Monsey, New York three years ago and tried out another school before finding Torah Day School. Since being here, Mrs. Silverstone says that she never knew such a religious school could offer such a top quality secular education in addition to a top notch Jewish education, and that her family is thrilled with the school.

"Donny felt like he learned more in that two weeks than he had in his previous two years of school!”

“Avishua wants to be at school early and leave late so he does not miss anything,” she said. “Donny feels good at his level of learning this year, and feels he has achieved so much more than he ever thought he could. He loves learning and is learning at a challenging level. After two weeks at TDS, Donny felt like he learned more in that two weeks than he had in his previous two years of school!”

They are also happy with the warm school environment and the friendly families who are part of Torah Day School. The children have made lots of new friends. Both boys enjoy soccer and love being part of Soccer Shots, and Donny loves Computer and PE as well.

Torah Day School is so happy to have the Silverstone family among us!
