“In my opinion, Torah Day School is a precious gem in the Houston community and I feel blessed to be a part of it.”  -Holly Cin, TDS Parent

Torah Day School's Early Childhood program offers a varied and stimulating program
emphasizing motor, social and cognitive skills for 18 months through 4 year-old children.

In addition, early Judaic training includes saying prayers and blessings; being exposed to the Aleph Bet; learning songs in Hebrew; and celebrating Jewish holidays and customs. Active parent involvement is encouraged and parents are invited to school regularly to share activities with their children.

Our Philosophy

We  encourage a child to make choices, with respect to him/herself, others and his/her surroundings to develop self-confidence and a positive self image.

We nourish a child’s heart and mind as we develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills to become well rounded and able to solve problems and adapt to new situations.

We educate children in a creative, supportive and warm Jewish environment, where Judaism is not just a subject, but a way of life!

Educational Goals

Our staff create a warm and happy environment where small children can grow and develop emotionally, cognitively and physically.  We endeavor to impart a love for the beauty of our religion and culture and use Torah Values as a guide.

Daily Schedule

The daily schedule is planned to include active and quiet times, gross and fine motor activities and child-initiated as well as staff-initiated activities. Outdoor play is scheduled each day.

Planning for the classroom involves consideration to the age appropriateness for the group and individual appropriateness for each child. As each child learns differently, various modalities are incorporated in each lesson with the interests of the children in mind.

Classroom Set-Up

The classroom set-up comprises learning centers including blocks, art, dramatic play, books, and manipulatives. Centers allow the children to make choices and to actively explore.  Centers are geared toward the children’s emotional, cognitive and physical growth.

Our Staff
